Nowra, NSW

Published 30+ days ago — This position has been filled.

Air Affairs is seeking applications from suitably qualified personnel with endorsements on LR35 to fill positions at our base in Nowra to support the Australian Defence Force (Joint Adversarial Training and Testing Services (JATTS)).

Ex-military pilots with experience in low level and multi-aircraft employment in tactical roles, preferably fast jet, are required to conduct joint adversary training support to the ADF.

Preparedness to fly company missions beyond the JATTS contract on the Company Special Missions tasking will be required of all company pilots. These roles include SAR, Aero-medical, Fire Scanning and Target Towing.

Suitable applicants will be well motivated and be able to work in a small team environment with the ability to manage operations whilst deployed away from home base.

The minimum entry requirements are dictated by Defence, waivers for some experience requirements can be approved. All pilots will be assessed and approved by the Commonwealth.

Most tasks involve working with other aircraft and ensuring safe separation is maintained. Formation skills, situational awareness and geometry assessment are constantly utilised. Multi-aircraft mission planning, briefing, and debriefing underpins the required flight activity of a successful JATTS Learjet pilot.

Air to air adversary presentations in support of fighter training forms more than half the tasking. Roles from squadron training through to large force employment exercises will be flown.

Maritime strike missions for Navy ships will require airborne strike coordination with other aircraft assets, low level tactical formation and strike profiles in all weather.

Target towing for warship live firing or air to air gunnery/missile shoots will require crew coordination with target operators and firing units.
