QGAir is recruiting a full-time pilot at its Brisbane base.

The QGAir Fixed Wing fleet consists of six fixed wing aircraft with bases at Brisbane, Cairns, Mt Isa, and Horn Island. QGAir delivers high quality services and support for life saving, community safety and state support aviation services to the people and government of Queensland.

This full-time contract role for 3 years (with the possibility of extension) involves rostered shift duties in an environment where roster changes can occur at short notice with a requirement to be contactable at all times. There may be a requirement to travel on official business domestically and overseas.

Your part in the ongoing success of their business, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including:

  • Utilise extensive aeronautical knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with Crew Resource Management (CRM) procedures, flight and safety standards in compliance with the QGAir Operations Manual.
  • Fly single pilot and two-pilot, instrument flight rules (IFR), on dignitary transport, organ retrieval, correctional, police and other government support tasks as directed by the Executive Director or Delegate.
  • Deploy, coordinate, undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary.
  • Perform a range of nominated support duties which assist in the operations of Queensland Government Air.

Required skills

  • B350 Type Rating: YES.
  • Languages: English
  • Languages: English
  • CASA ATPL;
  • CASA Class 1 flight crew medical certificate;
  • The unrestricted right to live and work in Australia;
  • 3000 hours of total flying experience;
  • 2000 hours flying experience Pilot in Command;
  • 500 hours flying experience on Multi-Engine Command;
  • 500 hours flying experience on Multi-crew aircraft;
  • Command Instrument Rating (Multi-Engine Aeroplane) with 4 renewals;
  • In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing and to participate in the QGAir Drug and Alcohol Management Program;
  • Command Endorsement/Type Rating and experience on the following aircraft:
    • Beechcraft King Air 350 and/or
    • Beechcraft Hawker 850.

Desired skills

  • Ability to relocate to the Brisbane area for the period of employment;
  • Previous Training/Checking Experience;
  • Flight Examiner Rating.
