Piper Navajo Survey Pilots Smartair Australia

Smartair is a CASA approved General Aviation operator with a fleet of piston powered aircraft. Specific contracts may specify additional crew training over and above the industry or legislated minimums and certain experience levels.

They are seeking to employ a casual pilot who will act as pilot-in-command on the PA-31 aircraft involved in aerial survey for particular clients.
The survey work is normally conducted by day in VMC but positioning of the aircraft or ferry to the survey area may be conducted at night or in IMC.

Minimum requirements:
  • Must either be an Australian citizen or have the legal right to work and live in Australia
  • 500 hours total aeronautical experience,
  • 50 hours on the specific survey aircraft type,
  • Current MECIR
  • Current CASA Class 1/2 Medical
  • Dangerous Good Awareness Certificate 
  • Have the ability to communicate regularly and effectively with the Chief Pilot regarding the serviceability of the aircraft, upcoming maintenance and estimated work schedules.
  • Be able to work independently from remote bases for extended periods of time.
