Your part in the ongoing success of their business, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including:
  • Utilise extensive aeronautical knowledge and experience to ensure compliance with Crew Resource Management (CRM) procedures, flight and safety standards.
  • Fly single pilot, instrument flight rules (IFR), on correctional, police and other government support tasks as directed by the Executive Director or Delegate.
  • Deploy, coordinate, undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary.
  • Perform a range of nominated support duties which assist in the operations of Queensland Government Air.

Minimum requirements:
  • Possession of Australian Commercial Pilots Licence with class endorsement 
  • Single Engine Aeroplane (SEA) 
  • Minimum 1500 hours total time - aeroplane
  • Minimum 1000 hours of Pilot in Command (PIC)
  • Minimum 100 hours turbine experience
  • Command Instrument Rating Single-Engine (Aeroplane)
  • Class 1 medical
  • In compliance with CASA Drug and Alcohol Management Plan requirements the preferred applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment testing
  • As this pilot position currently operates under third party Air Operator’s Certificate, the successful applicant must be accepted by this third party before they are appointed.
  • Must either be an Australian citizen or have the legal right to work and live in Australia 
  • Design Feature Endorsements
    • Gas Turbine (GTE)
    • Manual Propeller Pitch Control (MPPS)

Highly desirable skills/requirements:
  • Passes in all theory subjects for the Australian Air Transport Pilot Licence
  • Remote and regional area aviation experience as a single pilot.
  • Class Rating MEA and experience covering any of the following aircraft:
    • Cessna Caravan (C208)
    • Britton Norman 2 Islander (BN2)
