Piper Aztec Pilots Kîsik Aerial Survey Canada

Kîsik Aerial Survey is hiring a pilot to conduct single-pilot survey flights in their turbocharged Piper Aztec aircraft.

Kîsik is a small, close-knit company that has been operating photo survey across BC and Alberta for the past seven years. Their pilots are responsible for flight planning, securing airspace access permission from ATC and other agencies, and making safe aircraft-related decisions. The sensor operator and pilot work together to plan each day's work.

The position would be based at YVR, but may involve being away from base for as long as two weeks at a time. Most flying is unscheduled "on reserve," requiring the pilot to be at the airport within sixty-one minutes of a call. The work sometimes begins before dawn, and includes unscheduled overnights and "airport appreciation time."

They have a diverse workforce, and appreciate your uniqueness. The core duties of the position are seasonal, from June through October, but if you have the skills and desire to take on additional responsibilities, or simply want more hours and year-round work, that can be arranged.

Minimum requirements:
  • Must either be a Canadian citizen or have the legal right to work and live in Canada
  • A Commercial Pilots License with valid Class 1 Medical - 1000h PIC
  • 200 hours multi-engine experience
  • Multi Engine Rating
  • The ability to pass a group 1 IFR PPC
  • To be able to interpret GFAs
  • Fair written and spoken English communication skills
  • The discipline and motivation to do the best job possible, tempered by a safety attitude strong enough to say 'no' when conditions warrant

Preferred requirements:
  • Previous survey or similar aerial work experience - some flight time in a Piper twin
  • Cool stories to tell them

  • Pay and bonuses commensurate with your experience and responsibilities - all field expenses paid, at good restaurants and hotels
  • Benefits package
  • Interlining privileges
  • The love and respect of the Kîsik family

Please e-mail your resume and cover Letter to the chief pilot, Robyn Stewart,
