- The TRI-S is required to complete the simulator conversion training course for the aircraft type on which they will instruct but are not required to take the CAD type examination. Upon completion of the simulator conversion, instruction will be given on the technical aspects of the simulator and the conduct of simulator exercises. Credit for previous training and/or qualification on type shall be evaluated on a case-by-case basis by the CTC.
- The duties of a TRI-S include the conduct of simulator training exercises during initial type conversion including LVO. They may include Schedule 11 bi-annual competency, IAL (including LVO Tests), renewal of three-month recency in a simulator approved for that purpose, RT, projects, office duties and workshops as assigned.
- Previous or current ICAO ATPL Holder
- Minimum 2000 hours PIC
- Previous acceptable and documented aviation instructor experience
