B400 Rated and Non Type Rated First Officers CareFlight Australia

CareFlight Group an Australian charitable organisation with over 25 years’ experience in aeromedicine. With bases in NSW and the NT’s Top End, their crews are dedicated to providing the highest standard of rapid response critical care to the ill and injured. Their specially trained staff use, medically configured jet aeroplanes, turbo prop aeroplanes and helicopters to bring a hospital level of care and transport to over 5,000 patients each year.

Their diverse workforce is comprised of committed professionals with a drive to help save lives, speed recovery and serve the community.

They currently have a new opportunity for a full-time Beechjet 400 / Nextant 400 Captain & First Officer to join their International & Domestic jet Air Ambulance operation, located in Darwin.

This dedicated service provides a medically configured jet with a Doctor and Flight Nurse to support aeromedical retrievals and inter-hospital transfers across domestic locations within Australia and Internationally into South-East Asia. This role would suit a candidate seeking to move into a challenging aeromedical role in a high performance turbojet aircraft into remote area and international locations.

In addition to a family friendly roster this role includes competitive remuneration, annual simulator recurrency training at Flight Safety International. Key responsibilities will include:
Conducting all flight operations to the highest industry standards;
Actively participating in the processes used by CareFlight to organise and manage effective flight operations;
Maintaining a high level of systems knowledge on the aircraft operated;
Ensuring a high standard of radio communication procedures with ATC agencies; and
Participating actively in the company ground training programs.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team;
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
The ability to demonstrate a high standard of leadership during the conduct of flight;
A willingness to take on additional responsibility as required; and
A professional and client service oriented focus at all times. 

Minimum requirements:
  • Must either be an Australian citizen or have the legal right to work and live in Australia
  • 1500 hours Total;
  • 1000 hours Command;
  • 250 hours Multi Engine;
  • 100 hours Night;
  • CPL (with frozen ATPL);
  • 3 IFR renewals/IPC;
  • Class 1 Medical;
  • B400 / Nextant Type endorsement (desirable);
  • International Experience (desirable);
