PA-18 Tow Pilots Doss Aviation US

Doss Aviation is currently looking for Tow Pilots to performs glider/sailplane towing operations at the U.S. Air Force Academy (KAFF) Airfield. These operations include area tows, pattern tows, wave tows, and high altitude (12,500’) tows on USAF owned and operated gliders. Other duties will include conducting pre-flights, minor preventive maintenance (oil changes), positioning of aircraft in hangars, assisting in fueling operations when requested and assisting other pilots in rope set up when requested. On occasion Doss Tow pilots are deployed to neighboring states to support USAF training and competitions. Must work well with others and have excellent communication skills.

USAF Academy, CO

Minimum requirements:
  • 500 hours as pilot-in-command 
  • 50 total hours as pilot-in-command of light, tail wheel aircraft
  • 10 hours as pilot-in-command, during the past year, of PA-18 aircraft. 
  • Tow endorsements (preferably) current noted in logbook per FAA Part 61.500 hours. 
  • Current FAA Class II medical
  • Current EKG
  • Commercial pilot airplane, single engine land
