Head of Flight Training ATR France

ATR is recruiting its Head of Flight Training.
Within the ATR Training Center, you will report to the Vice President of Training & Flight Operations.
You will be responsible for all ground and flight training & checking programs and will ensure the consistency and quality of these courses.
You will especially ensure that the training performed complies with the Part-FCL requirements and that the training integration is satisfactory at all levels (theoretical courses, training on simulators and /or ground training)
You will continuously evaluate and implement new initiatives to ensure that ATR training center delivers high-standard training to ATR customers/operators in a safe and cost-efficient way.

Your main activities will be the following:
  • Management of Flight Training & Standards
  • Define training standards minimum requirements.
  • Ensure standardization and skills management of the instructors,
  • Ensure that the programs being managed are delivered in compliance with all appropriate regulatory agencies and mandate directives.
  • Interface with Authorities for integration/approval of new aircraft standards (e.g. ATR600 new avionics)
  • Maintain instructors knowledge up-to-date
  • Liaise with ATR Training Center Safety Officer to adjust training standards when appropriate
  • Training Management and Delivery
  • Provide technical support/advice for sales and planning teams.
  • Supervise trainees instructional and administrative management,
  • Oversee the accuracy of curriculum content with regard to regulatory agencies requirements and directives.
  • Ensure proper follow up of trainees and address issues related to abnormal performance during a training course/test
  • Sign and deliver training certificates
  • Coordinate program updates with the Quality Department and follow up approval documents
  • Interface with Customers Chief Training Captains or customers authorities to address/clarify specific topics
  • Perform training/checking occasionally as TRI/TRE
  • People Management
  • Manage a team of about 20/25 people (GI, SFI, TRI/E, admin), provide direction, set priorities and monitor achievement
  • Continuously coach and develop the Flight Training team
  • Interview prospective instructor profiles, evaluate and recommend candidate for employment/contracting
  • Work closely with other ATR departments, encourage team integration and cross communication.

Minimum requirements:
  • Significant flight experience as commercial pilot, ideally with ATR experience.
  • Successful experience as TRE/TRI on multi-engine/multi pilot airplane, with proven line training/checking background,
  • Excellent understanding and knowledge of aeronautical training activities, FSTD/teaching tools, and Authorities expectations (DGAC, EASA)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of recent and upcoming changes in regulatory requirements (Part- FCL, CS-FSTD)
  • Extended experience in developing training program. Ideally previous experience as Chief/deputy training Captain.
  • Should hold ATPL, EASA licenses, current Type Rating, TRI/TRE, medical certificate
  • Good knowledge of Safety Management Systems (SMS)
  • Appropriate level of experience in auditing/ evaluating various records and systems
  • Leadership and management abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication / presentation skills
  • Customer oriented
  • English : excellent working level is mandatory
