Chief Flight Instructor CAE OAA UK

CAE OAA has vacancies for Chief Flight Instructor – EASA Training to be based in Oxford, UK.

Job Description
  • Performing the role as the UK CAA Approved post holder of CFI .
  • Primary responsibility for all Flight Training policies at CAE OAA through consultation with the Multi-Pilot Training Manager, EASA Training Manager (USA) and other non-UK based EASA Training Managers.
  • Line management of nominated CAE-OAA Deputy Chief Flight Instructors/Senior Flight Instructors.
  • Line management of the CAE-OAA Oxford Flight Instructors.
  • Development/discipline of Flight Instructors.
  • Ensuring that CAE-OAA meets EASA Approval requirements for SPA/MPL flight training at CAE OAA.
  • Ensuring that training is carried out in strict adherence with the CAE-OAA Operations Manual and SOPs.
  • Setting, measuring and sampling the training standards of CAE-OAA EASA Flight Instructors.
  • Performance management (and appropriate remedial training) of CAE-OAA EASA students.
  • The progressive development of CAE-OAA SOPs.
  • When necessary – authoring and amendment of Operations/Training Manuals and course syllabi.
  • Making effective use of technology and training aids in SPA/MPL training.
  • Testing of instructors and students as appropriate –in accordance with personal examiner qualifications.
  • Assessing suitability of new Flight Instructors to join CAE-OAA (UK and non-UK).
  • Pro active development of the SPA/MPL product to ensure market lead.
  • Other duties as assigned by the HT as required from time to time.

Minimum requirements:
  • Extensive experience as an unrestricted JAR/EASA-Part FCL Flight Instructor/Examiner for MEP-IR training courses.
  • Must have current and valid JAR/EASA CPL/IR with at least 3,000 hours Total Time, 1,500 hours PIC and 1,000 hours ME.
  • A thorough working knowledge of EASA-Part FCL requirements.
  • Be acceptable to UK CAA.
  • Previous experience in an air transport environment (airline or military).
  • Experience in leading a team of highly skilled, professional ab initio Flight Instructors.
  • Must be a respected leader with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Have proven track record of enabling change proactively, energetically and positively.
  • Be willing to travel abroad to other training centres worldwide including USA.
